Container changeover

Bayonet connecter makes it an easy matter to change the container in about 10 seconds.

Magnetic polishing

Magnetic polishing is the ideal preparatory stage for wet finishing and replaces the traditional electrolytic polishing bath. With this mechanical polishing process, tiny steel pins whirl through the process container in a water/compound mixture. Acting like a hundred tiny hammers, they create a bright spot on the surface of the workpiece each time they make contact.

After about only 5 – 30 minutes this gives you:

  • Complete removal of oxide discolorations and investment residues
  • A shine even on inaccessible or intricate areas

However, since the amount of material removed by magnetic polishing is negligible, it is not possible to use this method to remove traces of casting skin or abrasion scratches. This stage is carried out by wet grinding.

Wet grinding

With wet grinding, the workpieces move through the process container in a toroidal current. The difference in mass between the workpieces and the plastic abrasive causes material to be removed and this is then washed away by the water/compound mixture.

This eliminates the need for tiresome and time-consuming manual processing and achieves results after about only 3 – 4 hours:

  • Complete removal of abrasion scratches and casting skin
  • Clean and bright workpiece surfaces
  • The soft binder of the abrasive prevents the surface from hardening and forming becoming pitted.

Dry polishing

As with wet finishing, the workpieces move in a high-energy eddy current. Very fine polishing granulates made from walnut shell provides gentle removal in the micro range.

After as little as approx. 2 – 3 hours pre-polishing and 0.5 h finial polishing the ECO-Maxi achieves:

  • Very smooth surfaces
  • Brilliant shine, comparable to manual polishing,
  • without damaging set diamonds, zirconia or pearls.
