OTEC initiates online-workshops: expert knowlegde, tips and know-how about mass finishing

Digital opportunities

Who could have predicted how 2020 would turn out and that the coronavirus pandemic would present us all with such unprecedented challenges? Here at OTEC, it is hugely important to us that we continue to support our customers as best we can in their everyday work, despite the restrictions on personal contact. We are there for them – virtually at least – when they need us.

Helmut Gegenheimer, Managing Director of OTEC, summed up the situation: “The coronavirus has been a challenge for us. We had to find a replacement for trade fairs, customer visits and inhouse mass finishing workshops at short notice. We devoted a lot of energy to getting OTEC’s online workshops up and running overnight. Participants benefit from expert knowledge, tips and know-how about mass finishing that they can put to immediate use. So far, around 1,500 people have eagerly taken part in our online workshops and the feedback has been overwhelming. It shows us that we are on the right track”:

Thomas Götz, Fraunhofer IPA:

“I have developed a comprehensive overview of the basics of disc finishing processes. I found the explanations about the influence of different parameters on the abrasion rate especially helpful from a technical perspective.”

Benjamin Kopp, Kopp Feinmechanik:

“I learned about the different influencing parameters and gained tips and know-how relevant for disc finishing. I really enjoy starting up the machine and trying out what we covered.”

Chris Kollmann, Metal Concentrators SA (Pty) Ltd:

“I had a basic interest in OTEC machines and gained knowledge about the full process. The online workshop was very informative and professional!”

Dietmar Elisch, JUNGHANS-microtec:

“Everyone in our department attended for free. We now all have the same information and level of un-derstanding of drag finishing with OTEC machines.”

OTEC: mass finishing experts by your side

It is free to attend our practise-orientated online workshops. Topics include selecting abrasives and optimising processes in disc finishing machines, everything you need to know about machines and processes in drag finishing and stream finishing, machine overviews and new developments. What’s more, we also answer participants’ individual questions.

Mr Gegenheimer explains why OTEC Präzisionsfinish is offering the webinars for free: “We are using this opportunity presented to us by the current crisis to show that, as a reliable partner, we want to support our customers in every way we can. Even in exceptional times, our focus remains on our customers and solutions. Further training is hugely important as it will allow us to emerge from this crisis stronger.”
